Changed my topic...

I'm going to do my paper about how the media portrays the family. Gay couples with children, divorced/single parents, and couples who live together who are not married are becoming extremely common. Marriage in itself is just getting less rare. Singlehood is glamorized and many TV shows make it look like the most desirable things in life are having a career, as a result the shows take place in the work place.

  1. I find this topic very interesting. It is also very controversial in our present environment.

  2. This is really good, I think pointing out specific examples of shows that are popular that do this would be pretty eye opening for some people who read the Family Proclamation, and then watch modern family the next day.

  3. I do that...I like to ready the proclamation WHILE I watch Modern Family. Perhaps I will learn something.

  4. I really like this topic Jessica. Make sure you stay focused on your main argument about how media portrays the family or lack thereof. I like how you are going to bring in the single life and career aspect of it.

  5. you cant help but love the gay couple from Modern Family though! especially cuz the more "gay" one is actually straight and the actually gay one is not your stereotypical gay!
