Freshmen rules is a very broad topic but as a freshmen myself I am in full support of the topic. What about freshmen rules would you want to change? Are you going to address all of them or specific ones? Which one are you the most passionate about? My topic is on how we should get rid of visiting hours in the dorms and allow people to be in our rooms till whenever we deem necessary. Is that one of the freshmen rules you will be applying to your paper as well?
I would love to change the requirement for American Heritage. My brother graduated from BYU last year and as a freshman American Heritage was an option. It is not that I did not enjoy the class, but it is hindering my GPA because it was the only class I received a B in :(. I also want to change the visiting hours for the dorms (like you) because they are stupid! Haha. Seriously, we should be able to visit coed dorms whenever we want to! Another one I will address is the required enrollment of the Peer Mentoring Program. I understand that it is very helpful to many, but it hindered me from getting into a certain teacher's class. Anyways, those are some that I have come up with but I am still thinking of more! :)
Can you find a way to zero in on the American Heritage/class requirements (or freshman mentoring bundles?), or maybe the way American Heritage is run--is the class itself too hard or unfairly graded to be mandatory? This could also be included in an argument about the freshman mentoring program. Just make sure you have a good idea of how freshman mentoring works and why it was set up before you get too deep into your argument.
Do you want me to focus my paper on peer mentoring and then under that main topic bring in American Heritage? Okay, I will! I was planning on calling my peer mentor and having her explain the reasons why they started this program!
