OE topic

Topic: The Honor code is not clear enough.

The Honor Code is too strict, because its vague terms seem to mean a lot of things that are absurd and ridiculous when taken literally. This is probably because it does not mean exactly what it says. It should be written clearly and not be a "shoot for the moon to land on the stars" strategy. It seems to be making rules very broad, yet accept a lower level of conformity - which makes it hard for those who take their promises seriously.

  1. This is an interesting take on the honor code. I normally discourage honor code topics but this shows promise; I've never had someone write on how the code is written. I would be interested to see any rewrite suggestions you have.

  2. Thanks, I'm flattered! I chose it because I think I have the best arguments for it than for other topics, since I've been irritated with the honor code in real life.
