Most of you do not know me very well, so I am going to go ahead and let you in a little secret. I LOVE, and I mean absolutely love, any sort of sweets or candy. In particular, I am a sucker for chocolate. It is like my whole self control flies out the window when it comes to trying to refrain myself from eating that huge piece of chocolate cake right after a big dinner. Yup that is me in a nutshell. Do you want to know another secret? I have found the perfect match for chocolate, a combination that no man has ever thought of before. You are probably wondering what could possibly go with chocolate that would make it even more divine than it already is. I will tell you. The secret is this: SWEDISH FISH!
I am sure most of you have had Swedish fish before. You can buy them in those big yellow bags at Costco—you know what I am talking about. Well anyways, a few years ago I discovered that if you take two Swedish fish, and put one single piece of a Hershey’s milk chocolate bar in between them, you get pure heaven. Now normally I do not like Hershey’s chocolate because I feel like it is too waxy. But somehow, when you put it together with Swedish fish, it becomes something amazing! Just as a side note, it tastes better if you sort of squish the whole thing together before you eat it. Also, this snack is not suitable for young children, as it is probably quite the choking hazard.
So next time you find yourself with Swedish fish in one hand and a milk chocolate Hershey bar in the other, I dare you to try this. I can promise you that your taste buds will love you for it. Trust me on this. I know what good tastes like. They don’t call me the sweets girl for nothing! So if at this point you are still thinking that this sounds disgusting, I just have one question for you. Have you tried it?
I love chocolate too! It's always so nice to find another chocoholic.Good job with the description, it was mouth watering. No, I have not tried the Swedish Fish Chocolate combo, but yes, thanks to you I think I will one day.
ReplyDeleteHaha you would throw in the choking hazard! Most likely you tested that on one of your nieces or nephews. I think your crazy at the moment. Chocolate and swedish fish....I will try it once I think. :)
ReplyDeleteSo I totally have the same thing in common with you. I am a chocoholic for sure! I love anything dipped in chocolate. I have not tried the chocolate and swedish fish thing however, but I love chocolate and I love swedish fish, so I will have to try it sometime! But as we speak I am in the library studying and eating chocolate covered cinnamon bears, also delicious!
ReplyDeleteit is funny that you say that you are in love with candy because my roommate is addicted too. Every day he has a new bag of Spree or Skittles, it is crazy. Anyways that combo actually sounds pretty good. I find it awesome when you stumble upon concoctions like that. Salmon and ranch is REALLY good.
ReplyDeleteHaha this was kind of fantastic. I have a major sweet tooth and have tried just about every sugar combination possible, but I haven't tried this one yet. I have to go to the creamery this afternoon and you can bet I'm going to buy some swedish fish and chocolate. :)Thanks for the idea. ;) I enjoyed your writing too, it was quite convincing. I loved the detail and descriptions and thought you put into it.
ReplyDeleteAt first I did not know what to think about chocolate and swedish fish, but after your description it actually sounds good. The combination kind of reminds me of my combo of two peanut m&ms with one hot tamale. I was told to try it on a hike I went on by one of the leaders and I fell in LOVE! Sometimes the weird things are what are the best, you just have to venture out and try them.
ReplyDeleteLol, wow, this was super cool. The title caught my eye and then I really liked how your argument built up to it. It was really very well written. I'm an extremely picky eater so if someone had just randomly proposed this combination I would have disregarded them as crazy. Now, I'd be willing to at least try it ;) Plus, I agree that even though most chocolate is AMAZING, Hershey chocolate has always tasted off to me (so since you wrote that I thought you must know what you're talking about).
ReplyDeleteI guess you can't say something's disgusting unless you've tried it for yourself! I just might take you up on this. I agree with ^^^ Rachel ^^^, though. The title grasped my attention and after reading, I didn't even really realize that you've successfully convinced me that trying Swedish fish with Hershey's isn't such a bad idea. Good job!
ReplyDeleteDon't knock it till you try it I guess.
ReplyDeleteBut still, I really don't like to mix a fruity taste with chocolate.
But I gotta hand it to you- you've at least convinced me to try it.
