Week 3: Man vs. Wild
I'm not a huge T.V. fanatic, but there is one show that I must watch any time its on. Man vs. Wild is by far the most entertaining and exciting television series I have ever watched. The host, Bear Grylls, goes about the wilderness in various parts of the world, trying to survive. He goes anywhere from the Sahara to the North Pole, from the Gobi Desert to the Amazon. No matter where he goes he is faced with mind-blowing obstacles he must overcome. He swings across ravines like Tarzan, treks through uncharted caves using only a hand-made torch, swims through shark infested waters, and frantically carves a snow cave to save himself from a massive blizzard. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned his menu! He eats anything he can find. Beetles, bugs, worms, spiders, and other creepy crawlies. He sets snares and traps to catch rabbits and rats, hunts for snakes and small alligators, even scavenges and eats meat off rotting carcases. How could you not want to watch this? Especially you ladies! Even though it can be somewhat disturbing at times, Man vs. Wild makes for a thrilling program and keeps the viewer at the edge their seat. This might sound cheesy, but he shows survival tips and other hints of making it in the outdoors that I have actually used in my own life. Not for survival of course, but some of his hammock designs and knots I have used while I have been camping. Overall, this is a great entertaining series that I encourage everyone to at least give a try.

I don't like TV much either but Man vs Wild is definitely a sweet show. It's kinda gross sometimes but it's just awesome how ridiculous he acts. I don't know if I've learned any knots from the show, though I've learned some other weird things.
ReplyDeleteI don't care what people say about whether man vs. wild is better or that other show but man vs. wild is one of my favorite t.v. shows of all time. I feel like i learn a lot from when i watch that show.
ReplyDeleteI like the one where he drank the inner juices of that camel. And I agree Bear Grylls is one cool dude, and if I were a lady I would love him! I heard they film some of the night scenes in a hotel though! ha ha
ReplyDeleteThat show is awesome! I don't think there is any man more manly than Bear. He is insane! If I were stranded on a desert island and could only have one thing, I'd choose him because then I'd survive for sure. ha
ReplyDeleteI want to marry Bear Grylls in the Draper Temple. He is a MAN.
ReplyDeleteBear Grylls is AMAZING!!! My high school A.P. Literature teacher hated him, but had no real reason to... So I naturally loved bringing Bear up at every possible opportunity. I hated that teacher... Personally, I admire Sir Grylls' manlitude.
