I love the word goal. It's short and simple but carries a lot of meaning to me. One reason I like the word goal is because of soccer. I love to watch soccer in spanish because whenever a goal is scored the T.V. announcers scream "GOOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!!" at the top of their lungs. So much passion and hard work goes into each and every goal that is scored and because of the low number of goals each game (the average score is 2-1), each goal is that much more meaningful.
The other reason I like the word goal is because I believe that making goals for yourself is very important. My parents have always had very high expectations of me which has pushed me to make very high goals for myself. If it weren't for such goals I may have never made it here to BYU and I would not be looking to go to one of the top medical schools in the nation. Because of goals I have been successfull in anything that I put my heart and soul into. I have been able to develop my talents in soccer, music, and my schooling because of high goals that I have set for myself.
If the word goal had a taste it would taste like a very expensive steak: It takes a lot of work and time, but in the end it is one of the best things you have ever tasted. That is why I love the word "GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLL!!!"

I love what the word Goal means too. It defines such an accomplishment. It is a little ironic how you can set "goals" or score a "goal" and in a sense it means the same thing while they are completely different.
ReplyDeleteThat's the best part of watching soccer games. So much down-time only to hear an announcer explode and yell that word. It seems like the only English word the Spanish announcers know so they just keep yelling it.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the best parts about watchicg soccer games. The way that the announcer will yell the word goal at the top of his lungs for minuets is something else.
