North Carolina- Your next vacation destination.

Do you like mountains, beaches, lush foliage, mild winters, and tropical summers? Of course you do, which is why you will love North Carolina! Now you may be skeptical of North Carolina and may be opposed to liking it, as was I when I was forced to move there in the middle of seventh grade. I was determined to hate it; I would never call it home. But as you can see, the benefits and charms of North Carolina quickly changed me from hating it to loving it. There are numerous reasons why you would love North Carolina. The first reason why you will love North Carolina is the Southern hospitality. Everyone there is friendly and nice. You know your neighbors, you say hi or wave to people you see even if you don't know them, and unlike Utah drivers, the drivers are considerate and kind. Another great thing about North Carolina is the location. You have both the beach and the mountains. One weekend you can take a beach trip, and the next weekend you can camp in the mountains. The landscape is absolutely beautiful: the rolling hills, sand dunes, the Great Smoky Mountains, the green foliage, forests, lakes, rivers, streams, the ocean, etc. North Carolina also has great vacation destinations including The Wright Brothers' Museum, the Outer Banks, the Biltmore Estate, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and historic Civil War and Revolutionary War sites. I could go on, but I will spare you. There is a huge variety meaning there is something there for everyone. Also, the winters are mild. Now I realize that some of you like the cold, but don't worry, North Carolina does get cold. But rather than being cold all winter, the cold comes in little spurts. You can still enjoy snow and the cold, but it doesn't last for months on end. And for those of you that perfer warmer weather, you will love the summers. I personally am not I fan of the hot and humid summers, but don't worry, there are plenty of lakes and beaches to cool off in. Overall, North Carolina is an amazing state. I have loved living there and I look forward to living there for many more years in the future. I would encourage all of you to visit the Tar Heel State and see for yourself what it has to offer. I promise that you won't be disappointed!

  1. You are the second person I have known that thinks North Carolina is THE best state to live in. My friend Cole was the friend in mind and he moved up to Washington 3 years ago. He would always compare everything to North Carolina and I am beginning to want to visit there more and more, sounds like a spectacular state.

  2. I totally agree with you! I toured the East coast last summer. I went to North Carolina and almost all those places you mentioned! I must say, it is a wonderful state with many things to do! Good job in your description, you captured it beautifully!

  3. The only time I've been to North Carolina, I was pretty young and don't remember it well. I think, based on your description--particularly the variety of landscape--I might like to visit again. I like that you built up your ethos by admitting your initial negative reaction to North Carolina; actually I would have loved to see you explain that transition a bit more. What were you doing the first time you decided you liked the state? What started to change your mind?
